This monthly club is a great opportunity to learn techniques, tips and tricks to make machine sewn bags, totes and wallets look professional.

We will meet once a month on the second Saturday in our Joy Classroom for a short instructional presentation.  In this meeting you will collect your pattern for that month and have a chance to see some finished projects for inspiration.

Can't make it into the store? View the instructional video on our YOUTube channel on the following Monday.   If you are unavailable for the in shop meeting, you can arrange for us to mail your pattern in advance. Shipping charges will apply.

Bag making techniques offered over the course of the year:

  1. How to  make material choices: fabrics, vinyl, cork, leather, canvas and more
  2. Which supporting stabilizers to use and when: fusible, foam, batting and interfacing
  3. Hardware options: effective installation and inspiration
  4. Installing Zippers: YES YOU CAN! Double pull, single pull zippers, cutting to size and changing pulls
  5. Adding fun design elements: gussets, pipping, handles, toggles and trims
and.... whatever else we come across along the way that we need to learn.  This club is all about how to have FUN and create unique boutique projects.  All skill levels are welcome!

Even though this club has already started, if you join now, you will receive all the previous month's patterns. Support videos for all bags are on the Always In Stitches Youtube Channel and will remain there indefinitely.

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: All levels of talent welcome!
Materials Included: This is a monthly club, no sewing just sharing
Instructor: Capi Saxton
Instructor Bio: Capi is the Chief Fiber Officer at Always In Stitches. You may not see her much in the front of the shop, but she is usually working somewhere in the background. She oversees all operations and when time permits, teaches classes and makes samples. Her quilting career started in 2007, when her best friend Lyneen decided to open the shop. Their plan was to just hang out in the shop occasionally. Little did they know that ?occasional? would not apply. It has become a wonderful adventure in the quilting world! Making bags, quilts and EPP are Capi?s favorite. She also loves making quilts for her family and friends. She says, ?seeing their joy in receiving something handmade makes me smile.? Her most memorable project is the 5 quilts she made for her dad and his brothers using the same pattern with different fabrics they each selected to make them unique. In her spare time, she loves traveling, gardening, sewing, and reading. Capi enjoys teaching classes and believes everyone is a beginner at some time. She encourages her students to allow themselves to make mistakes and allow others the same grace. ?This is a fun industry to work in, play and share with others. I?m blessed to be a small part.?
